Laser welding
We use the laser-welding process to make high-speed precision welds. We have pulsed and continuously emitting lasers of high beam qualities of up to 3.5 kW-cw output and 7 kW-pw available. These permit us to achieve the following penetration depths:
- in steel: up to 7 mm
- in aluminium alloys: up to around 3 mm
- in titanium: up to 7 mm
We achieve weld widths of down to 0.2 mm for precision welding.
A broad range of welding-critical materials (such as sintered and ceramic materials) can be joined, and high-quality welds (helium-tight, for example) are also possible in a broad range of materials.
Examples of weldable materials include: Copper alloys (included coated types), platinum, zinc-plated sheet steel, tungsten, aluminium-oxide ceramics, plastics, etc.
We also have process documentation facilities, such as simultaneous output recorders, welding light intensity monitoring and quality monitoring using modern image-processing methods.
