The drive unit for the future with highly flexible laser systems

LASERVORM like to thank you for the constructive exchanges

Through a close partnership with the Center for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research in Ulm (ZSW), LASERVORM experts are developing a highly flexible industrial laser welding machine for prismatic hardcase battery cells based on the LV Midi.

The ZSW focuses on the implementation of scientific findings in the production technology for large-format lithium-ion cells (FPL). LASERVORM's facility can score points with its variable form factors and the associated use in a wider range of users and customers.

LASERVORM has succeeded in combining the three different welding tasks on the hardcase cell in one machine without re-fitting thanks to the large construction and processing space. An absolutely special feature is the use of the 5-axis kinematics, which is created by controlling the scanner axes and the cartesian axes from a common control. It is used to realise the oblique irradiation of the laser at the pins.
